By downloading, installing, or using Voxboard ("the app," "we," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
Voxboard is an iOS application and keyboard extension that provides on-device voice-to-text transcription. The app uses the whisper.cpp engine — a local implementation of OpenAI's Whisper speech recognition model — to convert spoken audio into text entirely on your device.
Core transcription runs on your device using Apple's Neural Engine and Metal GPU acceleration. Audio and transcripts are not sent to servers; privacy-safe onboarding analytics may be sent as described in the Privacy Policy.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Voxboard app on any Apple device that you own or control, subject to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) and these Terms. You may not:
Voxboard uses OpenAI's Whisper models, which are released under the MIT License. The app ships with a bundled Base model and allows downloading additional models. These models are open-source and provided "as is." We make no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of transcription output.
Model downloads may require an internet connection and consume device storage. Core transcription can run locally after setup with an installed model. You are responsible for managing your device storage and data usage related to model downloads.

Voice-to-text transcription is performed by machine learning models and is inherently imperfect. Voxboard does not guarantee the accuracy of any transcription. Transcription quality may vary based on:
Do not rely on Voxboard for critical, legal, medical, or safety-related transcription without independently verifying the output.
The Voxboard app, including its design, code, interface, and branding, is the intellectual property of its developer. The whisper.cpp engine and Whisper models are open-source software subject to their respective licenses.
You retain full ownership of any audio you record and any text generated by the transcription process. We claim no rights to your content.
Your privacy is fundamental to Voxboard's design. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details. In summary: your audio, transcripts, keystrokes, and exported content stay on your device; Voxboard collects only minimal, privacy-safe onboarding analytics.
Voxboard is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that defects will be corrected.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Voxboard or its developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from:
Voxboard is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's standard terms and conditions, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranty services for the app.
These Terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the app and delete it from your devices.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
