Voxboard is built on a simple principle: your voice and transcript data never leave your device. We collect only minimal, privacy-safe onboarding analytics so we can understand setup friction without seeing what you say or type.
This Privacy Policy describes how Voxboard ("we," "our," or "the app") handles information when you use our iOS application and keyboard extension. We are committed to transparency: audio, transcripts, keystrokes, exported file contents, and user-entered text stay on your device.
Voxboard does not collect, transmit, or have access to any of the following:
Voxboard sends a small set of first-party onboarding events to help us understand where setup succeeds or fails. These events are intentionally coarse and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

All voice-to-text transcription is performed entirely on your device using the whisper.cpp engine — a local implementation of OpenAI's Whisper model optimised for Apple Silicon. Audio captured by the microphone is processed in real-time by the on-device model and is never transmitted over a network connection.
Transcription results are stored locally on your device within the app's sandboxed container and shared App Group. This data is accessible only to the Voxboard app and its keyboard extension. No external service, server, or third party can access this data.
Voxboard includes a custom keyboard extension that enables voice-to-text input across all apps on your device. Apple requires us to disclose the following about keyboard extensions:
Voxboard requests microphone access to capture audio for voice transcription. Microphone audio is:
Voxboard ships with a bundled Base model and allows you to download additional Whisper models of varying sizes. These model files are downloaded from open-source distribution sources and stored locally on your device. No account or personal information is required to download models.
Voxboard does not integrate with third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash-reporting SDKs, or cross-app tracking services. Privacy-safe onboarding events are sent directly to a first-party Cloudflare Worker endpoint operated for Voxboard and stored in Cloudflare D1 with the strict allowlist described above.
All data — including transcription history, downloaded models, and settings — is stored locally on your device. You can delete this data at any time by:
Voxboard does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The privacy-safe onboarding analytics described above are not intended to identify or contact a child and never include audio, transcripts, keystrokes, or user-entered content.
